* The Incas were not
only superb in their famous stonemasonry. Their water management systems
and agricultural terraces show their excellent planning capabilities,
perfectly adapted to the rugged terrain of the Andes. The style is the
same in the sacred valley of Cusco, in Machupicchu, as in the north
(Cajamarca, Quito) where they had their main administrative centers. The
sources of water seem to have been mainly springs.

Los incas no sólamente
destacaban por sus famosas construcciones pétreas. Sus sistemas de
manejo del agua y sus andenerías demuestran su gran capacidad de
planeamiento, adaptándose perfectamente al terreno escarpado de los
Andes. El estilo es el mismo en el valle sagrado del Cusco, en
Machupicchu, como en el norte (Cajamarca, Quito) donde tenían sus
centros administrativos principales. Las fuentes del agua parecen haber
sido principalmente de manantiales. ¿Cómo aprendieron tales habilidades
de ingeniería?
