Machupicchu es
una de las maravillas arqueológicas del mundo, una ciudadela que
permaneció oculta ante los conquistadores españoles, cuya existencia
fue revelada al mundo occidental en 1911 por el explorador
norteamericano Hiram Bingham. No sólamente sus construcciones de
piedra son de calidad comparable a las mejores construcciones de los
incas sino Machupicchu asombra por su ubicación en lo alto de un cerro
rodeado de profundos abismos.
Las ruinas de Ollantaytambo están ubicadas a menos de 40 kilómetros en
línea recta al Este de Machupicchu. La calidad y tamaño de las
construcciones de piedra de esta fortaleza son asombrosas.

The Ollantaytambo ruins are located at around 25 miles East of
Machupicchu in a straight line. The quality and size of the stone
constructions of this fortress are marvelous.
